What Happens During a Consultation?

The first stage of a hypnotherapy consultation will involve an informal chat and some questions from the therapist to ascertain the nature of the problem, and the necessary route to overcoming it. There will also be a chance for you to ask any questions that you may have about hypnotherapy.

Together we will discuss the outcomes that you want to achieve and the best way of doing this. At this stage, if you have any concerns at all, you are under no obligation to proceed.

As you enter a hypnotic state you will follow the therapist’s gently guiding voice, into a state where your body and mind are relaxed, and nearly asleep. To an onlooker it might seem that your are totally asleep but in fact, though you will normally feel very relaxed, you will remain awake enough to be aware. Also awake will be those parts of your mind which the therapist is working with to induce beneficial changes.

REMEMBER that if at any time you feel uncomfortable and want to terminate the session, then you will be perfectly capable of doing so.

After the session there is always time left for you to ask questions or to discuss any experiences you had whilst you were in the relaxed hypnotic state.

Fees

Any initial consultation with a client is offered free of charge and will generally last about 20 minutes.

Thereafter, if we decide to work together, I charge £50 per session, each session lasting an hour.

Certain programmes such as Smoking Cessation and Weight Loss have a separate fee structure.

Ethics

As a member of two of the professional bodies that regulate hypnotherapy, I adhere to a strict code of professional ethics. Further detais are available from the link below.
